preparing an evacuation Plan For Your Business

Creating and regularly reviewing an evacuation plan are important steps that you can take to help protect your business in case of an emergency.

The BC Economic Development Association’s “Top 10 Steps to Prepare Your Business for Evacuation” outlines some of the things to consider when developing an evacuation plan for your business. This includes things like:

  • Training staff on emergency procedures

  • Protecting your information

  • Securing your building

  • Preparing for insurance claims

  • Compiling lists of emergency links, phone numbers and key contacts (including staff)

Ready to get going on that list of emergency links and contacts? The City of Campbell River’s website is a great place to start.
